Herbert Clark Hoover (August 10, 1874 – October 20, 1964) was an American politician and businessman, who served as the 31st president of the United States from 1929 to 1933. A member of the Republican Party, he held office during the onset of the Great Depression.
His attempts to reverse the course of the Great Depression led to his defeat at the polls by Franklin D. Roosevelt. His book: ‘The Challenge to Liberty’ (New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons), 1934. The book is in red cloth with gilt lettering. Signed ‘The good wishes of Herbert Hoover’ on the front flyleaf.
Quite a rare find and must have for US Presidential collectors.
