(1884 – 1962) First Lady, wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States. Eleanor was active in a wide range of liberal and humanitarian projects. Her blue ink signature on the bottom edge of a memorial portrait of Franklin Roosevelt, 8 x 10 in., bearing a ‘FIRST DAY ISSUE’ ink stamp and hand-cancelled ‘Jan. 30, 1946’. Three tiny chips at left edge, else fine.
